A Bit About Me
I've always been drawn to things which make sense and reveal themselves only after you get close enough to them. Through physics, this came as a fascination in nanomaterials: structures too small to see with the naked eye, but behave in ways that quietly upend what seems obvious at a larger scale. I like the patience the work demands and the particular satisfaction of a work that reveals itself only after thorough deliberation, after a great deal of looking.
Photography has also asked something similar from me, but just at the opposite end of the lens: noticing what is easy to walk past and the trust that a well-done frame can hold as much as a page of data. I don't think of the two as two separate interests; but rather the same instinct pointed in two separate directions: one trained on the invisible and one on the overlooked. Between the two, I'm happiest doing the kind of work that rewards intensional sight: whether that's through a microscope or through a viewfinder.
Work Experience
